Competing Chefs to blend their #owntea
Chefs participating in the Canadian Culinary Championship at Gold Medal Plates this coming weekend have been invited to blend their own tea; as have 12 Judges, including James Chatto and Perry Bentley From UBC-O and 4 Olympians; namely, Gold, two time Silver and Bronze Medalist, Adam van Koeverden; as well as Gold Medalists Jamie Sale, Kristi Richards and Kelsey Serwa. 'We thought it would be fun and a great way to contribute to our Canadian Olympians' ~ co-founder Pierre Piche
The participants were given a list of ingredients to choose from, including green tea, rooibos, mint, lavender and orange peel and asked to concoct their very own tea blend. The completed teas, all 23 of them, will be signed and auctioned off during the Gold Medal Plate finale this Saturday, being held at The Delta Grand Okanagan. The monies raised at the auction will go towards supporting the Canadian Olympic athletes. Guests of the Culinary Championship will have an opportunity to taste some of these teas over the weekend and those attending the finale will each receive a sample of tea and a chance to win a Lyon Inspired Tea Party with Celebrity Chef Michael Lyon. Each of these teas can be viewed on our website at www.myteablendingroom.com/shop.
